Chairman's Message

International Federation of Red Cross society, a disaster mitigation and charitable organization started at Geneva Convention in the year 1863.Later in the year 1920 Indian Red Cross society was constituted by the parliament under act XV of 1920.  Now there are more than 700 branches all over India. Ernakulam district branch is honored as one of the best district branches in Kerala. With sub branches at taluk level and sub units in various panchayats, Ernakulam District Branch has been a helping hand for the poor and the needy.

Extended care for psychologically challenged and cancer patients was provided by Ernakulam District Branch, and also First Aid Training is imparted to the public and also the employees of various organizations. A specialized unit  - Junior Red Cross (JRC) is available  for implementing charitable and awareness programs in schools and colleges on encouraging them to social service activities. A team of trained volunteers are available to extend help to victims of disaster and natural calamities. Various health awareness activities are conducted along side.

A new project has been implemented by Ernakulam  District Branch in the name and style “JRC Student Doctor”
for health education of other students and public. This is the first of its kind under Red Cross in Kerala which was widely recognized and appreciated all over Kerala and spreading nationally. Huge amount is required  to continue the program; we expect financial help from kind hearted individuals and renowned organization.

At the same time I would like to mention about our institution “Red Cross Bhavan Geriatric Medical Center” at Kakkanad rendering various services to the general public like Physiortherapy, Homeo treatment, ophthalmology, counseling etc.


As a responsible citizen and a mentality to help others, irrespective of cast, creed and color, is all it matters. All our activities are backed by the financial help from various kind hearted and generous people. Donations are wholeheartedly welcomed.
